How Sharkcine handles information

Last updated: September 2026 (2026.9)

Sharkcine is an iOS companion for sealing a film or series citation — Ritual, Shelf, Chronicle, and Archive. It does not play or stream titles. This policy describes data stored on your device, advertising and measurement SDKs, and third-party APIs such as TMDb.

1. Who we are

The Sharkcine iOS app is published under Apple ID 6803804916. No login is required. We do not sell your personal information. Ritual receipts, Shelf titles, Chronicle notes, and Archive history are created on your device unless you export or share them yourself.

2. Information kept on your device

To run Seal, Shelf, Chronicle, and Archive, Sharkcine stores data locally, for example:

Uninstalling the app removes this local store from that device. Files you previously saved via the share sheet remain wherever you put them.

3. Microphone, speech, and photos

Live Notes

Microphone and speech recognition are requested for Chronicle voice notes. Audio is transcribed on device per our usage strings and is not sent to Sharkcine servers. Deny the mic and you can still Seal, use Shelf, and Archive.

Photo Library

When you attach a poster to a handwritten Shelf entry, only the photo you select is read and stored locally. Sharkcine does not upload that photo to our servers.

4. Advertising, analytics, and tracking

Sharkcine includes advertising and measurement SDKs so we can show film-related ads and understand aggregate usage. These may include Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), ironSource LevelPlay (banners, interstitials, rewarded ads), Vungle, Firebase (Analytics, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging), and related SKAdNetwork entries. A Facebook SDK identifier is configured for the app binary as well.

iOS may show App Tracking Transparency. If you allow tracking, partners can use the advertising identifier to measure ad performance and try to show more relevant ads, as described in our tracking usage string. If you deny tracking, the app still works; ads may be less personalized. We do not sell your personal information.

Partner policies (non-exhaustive): Google, ironSource, Vungle, Firebase.

5. TMDb and other network calls

Seal, Shelf search, and posters that are not stored locally request The Movie Database (TMDb) API. Your device sends search text and filter parameters (English titles work best). TMDb is not Sharkcine; we do not stream video. TMDb is not affiliated with, endorsed, or certified by us as a playback service.

Sharing an Archive receipt may include a TMDb page link. Remote Config and ads also use the network.

6. Children

Sharkcine is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child used the app on a device you control.

7. Your choices

8. Changes

We may revise this policy. The date at the top (September 2026) will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

9. TMDb attribution

This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb. Metadata and images belong to their respective owners. themoviedb.org
